02/27/13-DOE and NYSERDA provided updates on the Erosion PAS at the Quarterly Public Meeting.
11/14/12-DOE, NYSERDA, and ECS provided updates on the Erosion PAS at the Quarterly Public Meeting. The Independent Scientific Panel (ISP) is reviewing the Erosion Working Group (EWG) recommendations and is considering stakeholder comments received. ISP input regarding the EWG recommendations is forthcoming.
09/13/12-DOE and NYSERDA provided technical comments on the EWG Recommendations to the EWG and ISP and asked that the ISP review the Recommendations.
08/22/12-EWG SME presented their Recommendations for Phase 1 Erosion Studies (dated July 20, 2012) at the Quarterly Public Meeting and discussed stakeholder questions and concerns.
07/24/12-The Phase 1 Studies Erosion Working Group (EWG) has evaluated information relevant to the Erosion Potential Area of Study (PAS) and has reached consensus opinion that further scientific study may facilitate interagency consensus on the analysis of long-term erosion prediction at West Valley. As such, they have delivered their "Recommendations for Phase 1 Erosion Studies" to DOE and NYSERDA for consideration. These recommendations, posted on the Phase 1 Studies website, are now available for public review. EWG members will attend the August 22, 2012 QPM to brief public stakeholders and regulatory agencies on their recommendations and answer questions relative to the recommendations. On September 7, 2012, DOE and NYSERDA will provide any input received from stakeholders and regulatory agencies to both the EWG and the Independent Scientific Panel (ISP). DOE and NYSERDA will make decisions with regard to conducting the studies following a detailed review of the recommendations and considering input received from stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and the ISP. DOE and NYSERDA will also respond in writing to written comments received on the Recommendations for Phase 1 Erosion Studies.
06/13/12-DOE, NYSERDA, and ECS provided updates on the Erosion PAS at the Regulatory Roundtable Meeting.
05/23/12-DOE, NYSERDA, and ECS provided updates on the Erosion PAS at the Quarterly Public Meeting.
04/12 through 06/12- The erosion SME group continued weekly working conference calls to develop recommended Phase 1 Studies.
03/12/12- ECS provided DOE and NYSERDA with a status update for the erosion PAS. The erosion SME group reached consensus that additional studies would help to reach interagency consensus on Phase 2 decisions, as they relate to erosion issues.
02/23/12- DOE and NYSERDA request that ECS add Richard Young to the erosion SME group. Dr. Young is placed under contract, provided background information, brought up-to-speed on the group's progress, and began work on the initial brainstorming and evaluations being conducted by ECS and the erosion SME group.
02/22/12- DOE, NYSERDA, and ECS provided updates on the Erosion PAS at the Quarterly Public Meeting.
02/13/12- DOE, NYSERDA and ECS held telephone conference call with the six SME to kickoff their work on the Erosion PAS. During the call, the group discussed the Phase 1 Studies Process and the SME Scope of Work. The focus of the kickoff conference call was to discuss steps necessary to perform Task 1 of the SME Scope of Work in which they would "Evaluate and make consensus recommendations on the Phase 1 Studies". DOE, NYSERDA, ECS, and the erosion SME agreed on a target date of May 14, 2012 for delivery of their recommended studies, if studies were deemed necessary after preliminary evaluation of the PAS.
02/10/12- Public Stakeholders submitted recommendation of Richard Young as an addtional SME.
01/12- ECS placed the six recommended SME under contract to begin work.
12/11- DOE and NYSERDA recommended six SME for Erosion Potential Area of Study (PAS). These are Robert Fakundiny, Sean Bennett, Michael Wilson, Greg Tucker, Sandra Doty, and Joseph Price. Below is their brief bio.
10/11 and 11/11- DOE and NYSERDA worked with ECS to develop Subject Matter Expert (SME) Scope of Work for Phase 1 Studies
09/30/11- DOE and NYSERDA awarded Phase 1 Studies Contract to Enviro Compliance Solutions, Inc. (ECS)
